TP Reviews | Konsert 1 Mentor 5

Ahad lepas telah berlangsung konsert pertama Kumpulan A yang menyaksikan persaingan antara Shiha (protege Datuk Sharifah Aini), Ayish (Noh Hujan) dan Ratnah (Afdlin Shauki). Konsert dihakimi oleh Dato' Hj Ramli MS selaku juri tetap dan juara Mentor 4, Ziana Zain selaku juri jemputan dan mereka dipertanggungjawabkan untuk menyumbang sebanyak 50% daripada markah keseluruhan.

Setiap peserta diwajibkan membuat dua persembahan, pertama secara solo dan yang kedua berduet bersama mentor masing-masing.


Shiha (Menghitung Hari & Rindu)
No doubt, she is the best in this group. She has the look, the stage presence and the tone, of course. Dari pendengaran kasar, memang Shiha tiada masalah dalam menyampaikan kedua-dua lagu. Her rendition of 'Menghitung Hari' was perhaps one of the best I've heard so far. Agak terkejut bila Ramli MS tegur masalah melodi Shiha, but well, he knows better kan? Telinga kita dan telinga dia berbeza sangat. For me masalah pitch Shiha tak ketara tapi mungkin because she is the best out of the three, and she has the potential, so she is expected to not do wrongs. Perhaps? Persembahan kedua Shiha was excellent too. It is such an honor to do a duet with a legend like Sharifah Aini and Shiha utilized the chance well. Bertuah badan..

Ayish (Hanyut & Hijau)
What was Noh thinking? Yes, Ayish can sing, but clearly suara dia 'lemas' dalam lagu balada yang besar seperti 'Hanyut'. Dan kenapa gigih sangat Ayish menonjolkan imej Faizal Tahir? The hair, the style of singing, the face, the smoldering eyes..like hello? It was definitely a bad impersonation. Gabungan Ayish dan Noh untuk 'Hijau' was boring as heck! Don't just sing, tell a story!

Ratnah (Seribu Tahun Takkan Mungkin & Sedang Ingin Bercinta)
Oh mylanta! What was that? Kenapa perlu buat intro 'Cantik' kalau tak boleh buat secantik Nikki? And why would you mash up 'Cantik' and 'Seribu Tahun Takkan Mungkin'? Ratnah butchered the entire performance.
She has a beautiful tone, but she didn't deliver. But somehow redeemed herself dengan 'Sedang Ingin Bercinta'. I like the new arrangement, it was pretty. The performance was okay, but it wasn't as good as it could and should be.

Mesti ramai tak sabar tunggu next concert sebab ada Salmah kan? We shall see how it goes. Till then!
